GreenPath 2016 Pneumatic Pump Alternatives for Cold Weather

Emissions from natural gas-driven pumps are identified as a significant source of methane emissions from the oil and gas sector. As a result, the industry is actively pursuing alternatives to gas-driven chemical injection pumps as a means to reduce venting emissions. This report aims to assess economic and technical feasibility of commercial and nearcommercial alternatives to gas-driven pumps in Western Canada, with particular attention to technologies that perform at northern latitudes and cold climates.
